Purpose of the Contest

We are in the first quarter of the 21st century and we live in a world whose problems are getting worse day by day. Our undisputed biggest problem is; Climate change and global warming, namely the "Climate Crisis", which are the most negative effects of faster growth, which has become the main target of countries. However, another important problem is  “Global Population Growth”; In 1900, the world population is estimated to be 1.6 billion people, as a result of the population explosion after the Second World War, this figure is expected to reach approximately 6 billion people, and 9 billion people in the middle of the 21st century.

Every segment of society constantly thinks about the negative effects of "Global Population Growth" and "Climate Crisis" and develops solutions and ideas. In addition, permanent solutions are being tried to be produced with interstate action plans . For this purpose, 193 member states of the United Nations in 2016, "Sustainable Development Goals" and "17 Fundamental Goals" to be achieved in 2030.

They signed a memorandum of understanding on  .

In line with the 17-item Sustainable Development Goals planned to be realized in 2030  by evaluating today's settlement and housing problems and asking “How Can We Design the Future?” We started with the question. For the production of spaces, students who received Design education (architecture, interior architecture, landscape, industrial product design, city and regional planning) and Engineering education (construction)  today's “Global Population Growth” and “Climate Crisis” We organized a competition platform where, after 50 years, people will freely put forward their design and production ideas on settlements and shelters.

Theme of the Contest

The subject of the competition was determined as “Settlements and Shelter of the Future”. What is expected from the competitors, outlined above, will ensure that the "17-item Sustainable Development Goals", which are aimed to be realized in 2030, will reach as many items as possible;

Developing concept design proposals as SETTLEMENT TEXTURE + HOUSING UNITS.

It is expected that the designs that will participate in the competition will both reach the "Sustainable Development Goals" and include "New Materials and Construction Technologies" proposals.

Contestants will carry out their residential-scale designs in areas of their own choosing from the regions where the "Global Population Growth" and "Climate Crisis" problems are experienced.
